Sharon and Mark Diebolt were “drawn together by chance” at an art show. Mark’s degree in Furniture Design and Sharon’s in Art gave them the perfect backgrounds to branch out into fine woodworking. They married and began creating beautiful wooden pieces in 1982.
In 2008, they had a “’Eureka!’ moment at a craft show: handbags made of wood! With our extensive knowledge in veneer work, we knew we could use the skills we had honed over many years to design and create exquisite yet lightweight wearable art.”
In 2011, after perfecting their idea, the Diebolts launched their small line of Treebourne handbags from their Rochester, NY studio, “always keeping in mind our love of elegant designs paired with highly figured and interesting woods.”
